Robotics Log four, Robotics meeting nine (9/28/2017, 3:50-5:00)
Role call:
Toby
Alex
Robin
Mr Smith
Today, we will finish disassembling the robot, and we also got a new hex wrench, but it was the wrong size. Robin spoke with miss cooper, and she said that the other thunder mountain high school had some spare robots that we could test out programming on. Would be good to train and test our programs on while we build the main bot.
Also today, we are going to scan in the earliest meetings onto the blog.
The new task for today
We are beginning to create the most important part of the robot, the main arm. We have created a design a movable arm.

The new task for today
We are beginning to create the most important part of the robot, the main arm. We have created a design a movable arm.
- Grab from the top, need grabby pads. Must move down from up and down
- Maybe like the claw machine arms?
- Robotic arm also needs to be able to rotate, and then also rotate the claw part,
- Eraser grabby pad?
- Need three servos and three motors just for the arm, that's more than we had on the entire robot last year
- Worm screw and two gears, connected to a claw
- Some of the team proposed that the robot might need three servos on the "Wrist" of the arm, while other team members disagreed. The discussion was whether the robot needed to rotate its arms along the left and right axis, while other factions said that the robot didn't needed to rotate the arms along this axis
. We decided that the robot would only need two servos at the end of the robotic arm - If we have more time...Tentacle suit around robot arm?
We also created a rough prototype to show the rest of the team come next meeting.
NEXT TIME
- Create blue prints
- Finalize team roles
- Create the great song idea "Build Me A Corner"
