Robotics Log ten, Meeting Fifteen (10/16/2017. Toby Minick)
Rolecall:
Toby
Joel
Alex
Ramiro
Aidan
Robin
Sahil
Mr Smith
To Do
Complete putting on the core robotics parts like battery
Brainstorm about arm solutions
Some issues we ran into was the fact that we needed five motors, but we had only four motor ports, servos are not an option, because they cant run a worm screw, and they are not durable enough to hold up the rotating-drawbridge-arm system, or the RDA. The RDA also is a little bit to large for the robot at this point, and we need to figure out how to fit it within the robotic frame.
On anouther not, we are attempting to get a servo to move with a trigger, with some moderate success, and we celebrate that success with girl scout cookies courtesy of Robin. Overall not the most productive meeting in terms of actual development on the robot, but we found a number of problems that we are going to have to fix.
Also, TMHS gave us one quarter of a game mat that we could practice on, and we are mulling over the idea of selling our LEGO robotics parts in order to raise money.
NEXT TIME
Figure out the RDA
Get the programing all good and stuff
Begin to put together the mat that TMHS gave to use.
