Robotics Log Fifteen, Meeting Nineteen (Toby Minick 11-13-2017, 11:15-11:40)
Role call:
Toby
Joel
Aidan
Robin
Sahil
Ramiro
Tasks for today:
We got the worm gear! Now we can begin to start working on the arm proper, creating the platform, and making the claw.
We have a scrimmage w/ TM on December 15, so we now have a deadline for a beta-test. Also on the subject of TM, we need to contact them about borrowing a core motor cortex, we dont have enough for the arm.
Unfortunately, we don't quiet have enough helix gears for spinning the arm platform, and doing the claw, so we're going to have to either buy anouther one, or create one using the shop, or maybe a 3D printer. Perhaps for now we need to simply have only one side of the arm usable, until we get another helix screw so that both of the worm screws systems would work. Joel is working on the main arm, while Alex and Aidan and Ramiro work on the main robot frame, we are still using rubber bands to hold on the majority of the important things on the robot frame, not great for a robot.
Funding is still a big issue, we have not approached any businesses, and we have no other ideas for income. We don't know about the T-shirts, and we don't know about any sponsors, we barley even have levels of sponsorship. The biggest issue that I foresee in the future is funding.
